Do you care about our planet AND want to lend a helping hand? Many of us celebrate Earth Day around April 22 every year, but did you know that National Volunteer Week (April 15-21, 2012) also comes around the same time? This year, we are combining these initiatives into an event that gives plenty of hands-on learning and celebration of our local natural resources, while highlighting the organizations in Pike and Wayne Counties who aim to protect them. Many of these groups look for volunteers to help them achieve great milestones throughout the year, so why not come out to learn more about how you can get involved and make a difference in our community? Registration is not needed for this free event. There will be fun activities for all ages. Volunteer opportunities are available on the day of the event.
Please check the website for updates and more details at www.pikewayneearthday.org.
Great for all ages, open to the public free of charge.
No registration needed.
